Yet for years, there was no practical solution designed for the realities of condo and high-rise living: units left empty, pipes hidden inside walls, and leaks that go unnoticed until the damage has already spread to neighbors below.
The result? Displaced residents, overwhelmed property managers, costly insurance claims, and the kind of disruption that no building should have to absorb. LIKK Technologies was founded to change that.
Our Story
In 2016, Nicolas Kritzler and Alberto Himmelstern came together to solve a problem they knew firsthand: the costly, stressful, and largely avoidable damage caused by water leaks in multi-unit buildings. They asked a straightforward question:
" why isn’t there a reliable way to alert the property management and maintenance of a water leak the moment it starts, even when a unit is empty or the source isn’t immediately visible?".
The answer was: "Let's built one"; a smart, sensor-based solution that could be remotely monitored and serviced by the LIKK team, without affecting the property manager’s workload, and without requiring a dedicated on-site resource to manage it.
The vision was simple: protect residents and buildings from water damage before it happens, not after.
